Asian salmon
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (scallions)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, lime juice, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onions, and cilantro. This will be the marinade for the salmon.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure to coat all sides. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper to taste.
- Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin side down, and close the grill lid. Grill for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.
- While grilling, you can brush the reserved marinade onto the salmon occasionally to add extra flavor.
- Once the salmon is done, remove it from the grill and transfer it to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with additional chopped green onions and cilantro, if desired.
- Serve the Asian grilled salmon hot, along with steamed rice or your choice of side dishes. Enjoy!
Note: You can also prepare this recipe using a grill pan or bake the salmon in the oven if you don't have a grill available. Just adjust the cooking time accordingly.
